Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Biology: Characteristics of living organisms, cell structure and function, enzymes, nutrition, gas exchange, reproduction, inheritance, ecology, and human impact on ecosystems.
- Chemistry: States of matter, atomic structure, chemical reactions, acids and bases, the periodic table, metals, organic chemistry, and environmental chemistry.
- Physics: Motion, forces, energy, thermal physics, waves, electricity, magnetism, nuclear physics, and space physics.
- Practical laboratory skills and scientific inquiry are integral to all three sciences.
Mathematics
- Number systems, fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Algebra: equations, inequalities, sequences
- Geometry and trigonometry
- Data handling, probability, and statistics
- Problem-solving and logical reasoning techniques
Economics
- Basic economic problem and resource allocation
- Supply and demand analysis
- Market structures and consumer behavior
- Government intervention and policies
- International trade and development economics
Humanities (History and Geography)
- History: Key historical periods, causes and effects of wars, social and political change, and historical interpretation skills.
- Geography: Physical geography (climate, ecosystems, hazards), human geography (population, urbanization, development), and map skills.
- Environmental and sustainability issues are emphasized.
Business Studies
- Business activity and types of organizations
- Marketing, production, and finance basics
- Human resource management
- Business growth and external influences
- Business ethics and social responsibility
Computer Science (Optional)
- Data representation and hardware/software fundamentals
- Algorithms, programming concepts, and problem-solving
- Databases and Boolean logic
- Networks, internet technologies, and cybersecurity
- Emerging technologies and societal impacts
Additional Notes
- Students typically select 9 subjects, including compulsory English, Mathematics, Coordinated Sciences (or individual sciences), and a foreign language.
- At least two science subjects and one humanities subject are recommended to maintain curriculum breadth.
- Vietnamese National Curriculum (Literature, History, Geography) is compulsory for Vietnamese students alongside IGCSE subjects.
- Assessment includes written examinations, practical tests (for sciences), coursework, and oral components (where applicable).
- Preparation for further qualifications such as A Levels, IB Diploma, or vocational studies is supported.
